What’s Happening at The Alliance’s NatCon15?

The Alliance’s 2015 National Convention is less than three weeks away and excitement is in the air. The Convention will take place from January 22 – 25 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Many people are thinking about New Year’s resolutions, but we have the same goals each year: Think bigger and do better than the year before. Get Your Ship Together for Fall Forward

The Burlington Fall Forward event is coming up at the end of the week, and we want to make sure that you’re prepared! You don’t have to do a lot to get ready, but we do have a few tips for you.

  1. Set some goals. It’s okay to attend the event to see what you can learn, but you’ll get even more out of it if you set a goal for yourself. Do you need more training on annuities? Do you have questions to ask the Lead Performance Team or Director of KIT Marketing? Who do you want to associate with? Make it a goal to get your questions answered or learn as much as possible on a certain topic. Find out who might be attending and make it a goal to associate with some of them. If you know what you want to get from the event, you’re one step closer to achieving it!
  2. Get here early! Get directions ahead of time to make sure you know how to get here. Due to limited parking on the main campus, we’re asking that you park at our Maple Avenue office (1206 Maple Avenue) and take our shuttles to NAA headquarters. The shuttles will make continuous trips all day. Get here and park early so you can catch the first shuttle! If you’re a Black Card member of President’s club, you will get a parking pass on Friday for reserved parking on the main NAA campus for the entire weekend.2013 Fall Forward
  3. Get fired up! Events at NAA are not like ordinary corporation events – they’re much more fun! We want you to learn as much as you can, but have fun doing it! Andy always says he doesn’t understand why people yell, scream and dance at sporting events, but barely cheer for their own success. How To Kick Your Business Into High Gear in 2013

2. Choose your key priorities for the first quarter: Figure out what are the most important and most urgent tasks that need to be done first. If you tried to focus on more than a few things at once, you can become overwhelmed. Also, make a plan to delegate or shift lower-tier priorities accordingly.

3. Make an action plan to get to know your customers better: Make a commitment in 2013 to learn more about your customers’ needs, goals, and objectives. This will help you during the sales process and in maintaining client relationships.

4. Visualize your 3 to 5-year goal: What will you have to accomplish in 2013 to ensure that you meet your longer-term objectives?

5. Pick one item that is a distraction and create a plan to eliminate it: Focus creates success.

10. Get some rest and reward yourself. It’s going to be a long and fun ride in 2013, mixed in with a lot of hard work. Get ready to kick some butt!

National Agents Alliance 10th Anniversary

National Agents Alliance celebrated its 10th anniversary during the “Key To Tomorrow” Leadership Conference in Raleigh, N.C. on July 12-15.

The celebration started Thursday when Foresters held its pre-conference party that featured live music and a cake commemorating NAA’s decade in business.

On Saturday night, DJ Billy kept the music going as agents spent time toasting each other during a special NAA birthday party.

What has National Agents Alliance meant to people since 2002?

How about 940,000 families protected?

How about 98 billion in coverage offered?

How about helping people realize they can have a better life?

Those are just a few of the noteworthy achievements of The Alliance in its first 10 years in business.

What started as an idea in NAA President and CEO Andy Albright’s basement has grown into a national Insurance Marketing Organization that is second-to-none when it comes to teamwork, technology and lead generation.

It’s hard to believe there was a time when NAA has only one carrier. Today, The Alliance is in business with billion-dollar insurance companies like Mutual of Omaha, Foresters and ING … just to name a few.

National Agents Alliance has grown into the number-one biggest producing agency for some of the largest insurance companies across the globe, including Mutual of Omaha, Financial and Guaranty, Columbian Financial Group, Foresters, Monumental and Assurity.

Another goal from the beginning was to not only help people protect their families, but to also support various charities. NAA has stuck to that goal by volunteering with playground builds, school refurbishments in other countries, Duke Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network events and supporting many other organizations that “make a difference” in the world for those in need.

Helping Clients in a Tough Economy

Broken PiggyThe economic situation in our country is one of the hottest topics for people during this election year. Presidential candidates are trying to convince voters that they have a plan to fix the crisis and lower the national unemployment rate. In the meantime, many people are struggling to pay their bills, keep a roof over their heads, or even to put food on the table; leaving them feeling trapped and out of options. However, according a Fox Business article, “Out of Work? Consider Tapping Your Life Insurance Policy for Quick Cash,” a life insurance policy could be a short-term solution to this very long-term problem.  This is where the National Agents Alliance agent can help educate the client.

A survey completed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) found that nearly half of people surveyed didn’t know that life insurance can include investment options, and 2/3 didn’t realize that some types of life insurance include a cash value.  We know that term life insurance policies do not develop cash values and are no help in this situation.  On the other hand, as an NAA agent you can provide whole, universal, variable, and permanent life policies that combine both death benefits and investment components that build cash value over time, and these policies can provide needed cash in the future if the client faces financial hardship like what people are facing today.

If your client gets in a position where it’s necessary to borrow money from their policy, the funds can be repaid to restore the full value of the policy, and borrowing money from their own policy is much cheaper than using credit cards, cash advances, or bank loans, and in most cases and there’s no repayment schedule; good reasons why some clients could use this alternative.

It’s not really a secret, but it might as well be because not enough people do what I’m about to tell you to do.

What is Persistency?

While persistency can mean different things depending on whether it’s used describing a person or as an insurance industry term, both definitions are quite similar.  Persistency is an important concept to understand in this business and is used as a common measure of performance.  Sometimes insurance can be a confusing road to navigate, so you may think the concept will be difficult to grasp, but don’t worry! Avoid the Struggles

Avoid the StrugglesWhy do some agents struggle while others at National Agents Alliance are living their dreams?

You may be surprised to learn that the NAA “Super Stars” are no different from you. They have the same state license.  They took the same course to get that license.  They attend the exact same bootcamps, rotation meetings, and the same national events.  They passed the same training course through NAA University. They have the exact same products from the exact same insurance carriers.

Every man and woman comes to National Agents Alliance with the same hopes and dreams.  Every one of them comes in knowing the amazing potential of the opportunity this industry and this great company offer.  And, every single agent begins with the intention of making a big splash; a splash that puts them on stage receiving the accolades of 4,000 peers, being handed big bonus checks, accepting from the carriers well-earned incentive trips to exotic places around the world, but in reality, not everyone succeeds to the level of their initial expectations.

So, the question was “why to some agents struggle while…”  The answer is actually pretty simple.  With the same training, the same products, the same everything…some just are not doing it right or they are not doing it enough.

Both reasons are easily fixed.  Working with a mentor at National Agents Alliance can correct “not doing it right.”  Having one of the leaders critique your work can help you improve your prospecting and sales skills.  Following the advice of CEO Andy Albright, “trust only action,” can solve the second problem.  Talk is cheap.  Action pays the bills.  Make more calls, set more appointments, and do more presentations.

Do it right, and do it enough and, before you know it, you’ll be with the team on the beach in some beautiful spot in the world!
